Dear John Miller,

	It  looks  like  I  am the right John McCarthy.  At least, my
father was from Kerry - a place called Inch, I believe  he  said,  my
mother  was  a  Jew  from  Russia,  and my father's sister, Catherine
Martin, lives in Boston.

	My father,  who  died  in  1963,  had  lost  touch  with  his
relatives  in Ireland, and I have not seen my aunt in Boston for many
years.  I would be grateful for any information  you  and  your  wife
could supply.

	I am also looking forward to meeting you and your wife, and I
will come visit you in Dublin the next time I go to Europe; I have no
present  plan  to  go  to  Europe, but an occasion will surely arise.
Needless to say, if something should bring you to California, I hope
you will visit me.
